Surf Board  Surf Board Cisco Beach, Nantucket, MA September 6 and it still feels very much like summer, which is great since I can keep posting beach pictures. Tropical Storm Hanna is coming up the east coast today bringing with it lots of rain and sauna like humidity. This picture was taken on a much sunnier day a few weeks ago. Masts  Masts The Opera House Cup, Nantucket, MA Started by Opera House owner Gwen Gaillard and Opera House manager Chick Walsh in 1972, The Opera House Cup has been attracting classic wooden sailboats ever since. Race organizers have developed a special formula that allows wooden boats of all classes to compete against each other on an even playing field. Several former America’s cup winners competed in the event including Weatherly and Columbia, as well as lovingly restored 100 year-old boats like Rugosa and Alera. These are the masts of some of the larger boats.
